A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council – Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (BRIC-IBSD), Imphal, and Manipur Technical University (MTU). This strategic partnership is aimed at fostering academic and research collaboration.

The ceremony commenced with self-introductions by all members present. Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Manipur Technical University, and Dr. H. Nanaocha Sharma, Director, BRIC-IBSD, Imphal, highlighted the significance of the MoU, emphasizing its role in strengthening institutional cooperation and promoting impactful research initiatives between the two institutions.

            The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally inked by the following representatives:

  • Dr. H. Nanaocha Sharma, Director, BRIC-IBSD, Imphal
  • Mr. Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Registrar, Manipur Technical University

The signing ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Manipur Technical University.

  1. Objectives of the MoU:
  • Promote academic and scientific cooperation through collaborative programs and exchanges.
  • Facilitate joint research initiatives involving students, faculty, and staff of both institutions and registration of Research scholars of IBSD under Manipur Technical University as per UGC and University regulations.
  • Enable shared use of advanced facilities to support joint research collaborations.
  • Exchange expertise in administration and management for institutional development.
  • Encourage mutually beneficial activities agreed upon by both parties.

The ceremony concluded with a valedictory address by the Director of BRIC-IBSD, who underscored the importance of showcasing the research contributions of faculty and scientists from both institutions. He expressed that such efforts would catalyse deeper collaboration and reinforce the academic partnership established through the MoU.
