Eligibility :
A candidate seeking admission to the 2-year MSc Mathematics shall possess a 3-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution and shall have secured at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA in the required qualification. A relaxation of 5% in marks or an equivalent CGPA shall be provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and PwD categories.
Admission Procedure:
Admission to the postgraduate programmes shall ordinarily be based on the candidate’s performance in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG), 2026 in Mathematics conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The University may prescribe programme-wise minimum qualifying scores, cut-off scores, merit criteria, and other admission requirements from time to time. In the event that seats remain vacant after admission based on CUET-PG 2026 scores, the University may conduct an entrance test for the vacant seats. The entrance test shall consist of 50 multiple-choice questions carrying 2 marks each, making a total of 100 marks. Candidates may refer to the University’s official website, www.mtu.ac.in, for the detailed syllabus and other relevant information pertaining to the entrance examination.

Intake Capacity:
The intake capacity of 2-year MSc Mathematics is 30. Seats shall be reserved for candidates belonging to reserved categories in accordance with the prevailing guidelines issued by the Government of Manipur from time to time.
Remarks:
Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying Bachelor’s degree examination and whose results are awaited may also apply for admission. Such candidates, if selected, shall be granted provisional admission subject to the production of the final mark sheet / provisional certificate evidencing fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility requirements on or before the date notified by the University, failing which the provisional admission shall be cancelled.
