Event Description:

Manipur Technical University organised a one-day Induction Programme for the newly admitted M. Tech 1st Year students of the 2026–2027 batch on 24 August 2026. The programme was designed to familiarise the students with the academic environment, rules and regulations, examination system, library and IT facilities, departmental activities, student support services, research opportunities and other institutional facilities of the University.

Plan of Action:

The induction programme was planned as a full-day orientation programme from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, covering the following major activities:

  1. Inaugural session, felicitation, lamp lighting and addresses by university dignitaries.
  2. Familiarisation with MTU Academic Rules and Regulations and Examination Rules.
  3. Orientation on Library Facilities, University Website and IT-related information, and Training and Placement Cell.
  4. Introduction to the Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
  5. Familiarisation with MOOCs and SWAYAM.
  6. Briefing on Student Affairs, Alumni Affairs and Scholarships.
  7. Orientation on Research and Development Cell, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), IQAC and IPR Cell.
  8. Awareness session on Disaster Management.

Action Report:

The programme was conducted according to the scheduled programme. The inaugural session commenced with the gathering of students, faculty and staff, followed by the arrival and felicitation of dignitaries, lamp-lighting ceremony, welcome address, and addresses by the Controller of Examinations, Chief Finance Officer and Vice Chancellor. The session concluded with a vote of thanks and light refreshments. The academic orientation sessions that followed provided students with various informations and familiarisations.

Outcome of the Event:

The induction programme successfully provided the newly admitted M. Tech students with a comprehensive orientation to the academic and institutional environment of Manipur Technical University. The programme helped students understand the resources, opportunities, responsibilities and support systems available to them and enabled them to begin their postgraduate academic journey with better awareness of the University and its various activities.
