- Introduction
Manipur Technical University organised Rendezvous 5.0 – Annual Freshers’ Meet 2026 on 12 October 2026 at the New AIC Block of the University. The programme was organised to welcome newly admitted students and provide them with an opportunity to interact with senior students, faculty members and other members of the University community. The event aimed to promote friendship, creativity, cultural diversity and a sense of belonging among students.
- Inauguration Programme
The inaugural session was attended by the following dignitaries:
- Chief Guest: Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Manipur Technical University.
- Guests of Honour: Dr. Ksh. Imokanta Singh, Chief Financial Officer, and Dr. Leishangthem Debendra Singh, Controller of Examinations, Manipur Technical University.
- Presidential Address: Shri Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Registrar, Manipur Technical University.
The inauguration programme comprised the following activities:
- Gathering and felicitation of the dignitaries.
- Lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
- Presentation of the welcome song (Sanaleibak Manipur).
- Welcome address by Dr. Angom Devadatta Mani, Coordinator, Student Affairs, Manipur Technical University
- Addresses by the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour.
- Address by the Registrar, MTU, as part of the inaugural proceedings.
- Addresses by the Heads of Departments.
- Distribution of prizes of Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, 2026 to the deserving students.

Following the inaugural session, the programme continued with cultural performances and various activities showcasing the talents and creativity of the students. These activities provided a platform for students to express themselves, build confidence and participate actively in campus life.
A major attraction of the event was the Mr. and Ms. Freshers competition, which included a ramp walk and question rounds. The finalists participated in the concluding rounds, followed by the announcement of results and distribution of prizes.
The programme concluded at approximately 5:30 PM, marking the successful completion of the Annual Freshers’ Meet.
