Event Description

The MTU-NSS Unit organised a Patriot Day Celebration at the Manipur Technical University campus to promote patriotism, national unity, and civic responsibility among students. The event brought together students, faculty members, and staff to honour the spirit of the nation and encourages active participation in nation-building. Through patriotic activities and messages, participants were inspired to uphold the values of unity, integrity, and service to society.

Plan of action

The programme will commence with the lighting of candles and a floral tribute to the patriots and martyrs of Manipur. This will be followed by a patriotic song by NSS volunteers, led by Miss. G. Sapana, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities, and poem recitation by NSS volunteers. The programme will also feature talks by the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and CFO of MTU, along with a special talk by the Resource Person, Dr. Arambam Noni Meitei. The event aims to honour the sacrifices of the patriots and martyrs and promote patriotism, unity, and social responsibility among students.

Action Report

The MTU NSS Unit successfully organised a Patriot Day Celebration at the Manipur Technical University campus. The programme commenced with the lighting of candles and a floral tribute to the patriots and martyrs of Manipur. NSS volunteers presented a patriotic song, led by Dr. Sapana, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities, and also performed poem recitation. Inspirational talks were delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and CFO of MTU, along with the Resource Person, Dr. Arambam Noni Meitei. The programme was attended by 41 faculty members and staff and 75 students. The event successfully promoted the values of patriotism, unity, remembrance, and social responsibility among the participants.

Outcomes / Impact of the activity

The Patriot Day celebration 2026 successfully promoted patriotism, national unity, and respect for the sacrifices of the patriots and martyrs of Manipur among students and members of the University. The participation of 41 faculty members and staff and 75 students encouraged a strong sense of unity and collective responsibility. The speeches, patriotic song, candle lighting, floral tribute, and poem recitation helped create awareness about the importance of remembering the sacrifices of the past and inspired students to contribute positively to society and the nation.

Feedback

The participants expressed positive feedback on the Patriot Day celebration and appreciated the efforts of the MTU NSS Unit in organising the programme. The speeches, candle lighting, floral tribute, patriotic song, and poem recitation were well received by the students, faculty members, and staff. Participants felt that the programme was meaningful and helped strengthen the values of patriotism, unity, respect for martyrs, and social responsibility.
