Events summary :
A 4 – Day Induction Programme for B.Tech. students (Batch of 2026 – 2030), was conducted from 14th July – 18th July 2026, at the New Academic Block, Manipur Technical University (MTU), Takyelpat. The programme was designed to facilitate the smooth transition of new students by helping them feel comfortable, welcomed, and well-adjusted to their new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and integrate the culture of the institution and help them built bond with other students and faculty members.
A series of informative and engaging sessions formed part of the programme, including:
1: Inaugural Function:
Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Vice Chancellor, MTU graced the programme as the Chief Guest. Dr. Ksh. Imokanta Singh, Chief Finance Officer, MTU and Dr. L. Debendra, Controller of Examinations, MTU attended as the Guest of Honour.
The programme was presided over by Shri. Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Registrar, MTU.
2. Eminent speakers’ talk and interactions:
Smt. Khumanthem Diana Devi, IAS, Director of Transport, Government of Manipur, spoke on “Developing Scientific Temperament and Its Application in Everyday Life”.
Smt. Victoria Yengkhom, IPS, Assistant Director, Manipur Police Training College, Pangei Imphal East, Government of Manipur, emphasized her talk on building the right attitude for success.
Dr. Dhanabir Laisharm, Social Scientist, spoke on mental health issues pertaining to students and parents embarking on their new journey to career and life.
Shri. Nongthombam Binod Singh, Scientist F, State Informatics Officer, National Informatics Centre (NIC) Manipur State Centre, Government of India, delivered on the evolving technologies of current 21st century where AI usage has embodied in every sphere of life.
Dr. Thangjam Dhabali Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, BABINA Group of Companies, emphasized his talk on professionalism, ethics and values as students embarked on their journey and how a disciplined students goes a long way in their life.
Prof. Yumnam Jayanta Singh, Executive Director, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Imphal, Government of India, spoke on learning and utilising emerging technologies from developed countries, and making our own in-house tools and technologies.
3. Academic Orientations:
Faculty members provided a comprehensive overview of the academic programmes, examinations and evaluation systems, familiarization of every department and each diverse cell which are at Manipur Technical University.
The co-ordinators of the programme, Mrs. Ingudam Gomita and Dr. Chunkyraj Khangembam, expressed gratitude and appreciation to all the faculty members, staffs and students of MTU, who contributed to the success of the Induction Programme.
The programme concluded with the feedback from the students.
