Event Description

The programme was successfully organized at Manipur Technical University, New Academic Block, Room No. 417, with the participation of distinguished guests, faculty members, staff, and students. It commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the State Song, felicitation of dignitaries, and a welcome address by Dr. Roshni Rajkumari.

A key highlight of the event was the release of NEXUS, the biannual newsletter of MTU.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by L. Denin Singh.

Pre-Event Planning:

  • Constitute the organizing committee and allocate responsibilities.

Event Execution:

Action Report

The 11th Foundation Day of Manipur Technical University was successfully conducted at New Academic Block, MTU, with the participation of dignitaries, faculty members, staff, and students. The event commenced at 10:00 a.m. with the arrival of the dignitaries and attendees, followed by the dignitaries taking their seats on the dais at 10:10 a.m.

The programme officially began with the Ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp at 10:20 a.m., symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge, followed by the State Song at 10:25 a.m. The dignitaries were then felicitated in recognition of their presence and valuable contributions.

A warm welcome address was delivered by Dr. Roshni Rajkumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, who greeted the guests and highlighted the significance of the occasion.

One of the major highlights of the programme was the release of “NEXUS”, the Biannual Newsletter of Manipur Technical University, showcasing the academic and institutional achievements of the university.

Addressing the gathering, Guest of Honour, Shri. Laishram Radhakanta Singh, Controller of Technical Education, Government of Manipur, emphasized the significant role of Manipur Technical University in advancing technical education and contributing to societal progress. He underscored the importance of a strong institutional foundation and expressed confidence that MTU would continue to achieve its vision and attain greater milestones in the years ahead.

Shri Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Registrar, Manipur Technical University, highlighted the University’s significant academic and administrative achievements, including the introduction of Ph.D. and M.Tech. Programmes, formulation of new academic ordinances, implementation of the E-Office system, adoption of the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), and the successful organization of MTU’s first Convocation. He also announced the approval of Heirok Engineering College as an expansion campus and emphasized the University’s commitment to research and faculty development through the newly adopted Research and Development Policy, which provides financial support for faculty development and research activities.

Dr. Ksh. Imokanta Singh, Chief Finance Officer, MTU, described the Foundation Day as an occasion to reflect on the University’s journey by recognizing its achievements and identifying areas for improvement. He emphasized the importance of continuous self-assessment and sustaining the tradition of excellence as MTU progresses towards greater growth and development.

Dr. L. Debendra Singh, Controller of Examinations, MTU, emphasized the importance of acknowledging the contributions of all those who played a role in the establishment and growth of the University. He encouraged the MTU community to continue working collectively towards excellence and to strengthen the University’s academic and institutional standards to remain competitive with other universities.

Chief Guest, Shri. Ningthoujam Geoffrey Singh, IAS, Commissioner, Department of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Manipur, appreciated the remarkable progress achieved by Manipur Technical University and credited its growth to the visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, along with the collective efforts of the University community. Addressing the students, he emphasized the values of patience, hard work, and effective time management, encouraging them to remain focused on their academic goals and make the best use of the opportunities available at the University.

In his Presidential Address, Prof. Wahengbam Chandbabu Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Manipur Technical University, highlighted the University’s key achievements, including the successful launch of the Ph.D. programme with 61 research scholars enrolled. He emphasized strengthening research and publications, implementing the SAMARTH digital platform, enhancing students’ industry-relevant skills, introducing an Adjunct Faculty system, and reinforcing the faculty structure to support the University’s pursuit of academic excellence, NAAC accreditation, and UGC 12(B) recognition.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by L. Denin Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, dignitaries, faculty members, students, organizing committee, and all participants for making the programme a grand success.

The event concluded with refreshments at 12:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for interaction and networking among the participants.
