2. About the Event
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Manipur Technical University, organized a one-day educational industrial visit to the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal on 17th May 2025. The purpose of the visit was to enhance students’ practical understanding of Internet of Things (IoT), computer applications, and other emerging technologies relevant to the field of Computer Science and Engineering.
A total of 36 members participated in the visit, comprising 29 students from the 4th semester and 7 accompanying staff members, including faculty, lab technicians, and project assistants. The visit provided valuable exposure to real-world technological environments and helped bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial practices.
3. Aim and Objectives
The primary aim of the industrial visit was to provide the students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering with practical exposure to industry-relevant technologies and real-world applications in the fields of Internet of Things (IoT) and computer science. The visit intended to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom and its practical implementation in the industry. By observing and interacting with professionals at NIELIT Imphal, students were able to familiarize themselves with current technological trends and tools used in the industry. This experience encouraged meaningful interaction between students and industry experts, offering valuable academic and career insights. Furthermore, the visit aimed to inspire innovation and critical thinking by exposing students to real-time systems and processes, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of embedded systems and emerging areas within computer science.

On behalf of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Manipur Technical University, I am pleased to state that the one-day industrial visit to NIELIT, Imphal, was a valuable learning experience for our students. The exposure to advanced technologies in Internet of Things (IoT) and computer applications provided practical insights beyond classroom learning. The interaction with experienced professionals greatly enhanced the students’ understanding of industry practices and emerging trends.
