Department of Professional and Technical Communication

The university has a separate department for Professional and Technical Communication under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science to equip the students with the sound concepts of humanities. The department aims to provide a firm grounding in human values and communication skills to produce well rounded and conscientious citizens besides covering the entire spectrum of education that gives a unique all-around perspective of the holistic education process and preparing competent professionals. The department also strives to provide graduates with valuable, employment enhancing skills such as team-work, critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills, and persuasive writing and speaking skills that can be used in their professional lives, and significant personal insights into the world that can broaden their horizons and concepts of the world, allowing them to see the ‘big picture’.

Department of Economics

The Department of Economics started functioning in December 2017. The goal of any engineer must be to translate scientific ideas into products and systems that will enhance humanity. The department gives primary importance to particular topics such as microeconomics, mathematical economics, international economics, and regional economics. Currently, there is no department of economics. Now, economics course is under the Department of Humanities and Social Science. The economics course is taught in both the B.Tech and MBA programmes at MTU.
