Aim:

The aim of the industrial visit to the plastic manufacturing industry, which includes a plastic recycling unit, is to provide undergraduate students with practical exposure to advanced manufacturing processes, including blow molding, rotational molding, and recycling technologies. The visit emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices, showcasing how new plastic products are made from recycled materials, fostering a deeper understanding of real-world industrial applications and environmental responsibility.

Objectives:

  1. To familiarize students with the technical knowledge and skills associated with plastic manufacturing processes, including the production of plastic water tanks, buckets, flower pots, and water bottles using advanced molding techniques.
  2. To provide insights into the plastic recycling process and its role in producing new, sustainable plastic products, emphasizing the industry’s efforts toward environmental conservation.
  3. To bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications in the field of manufacturing and recycling technologies.
  4. To expose students to the operational workflow, machinery, quality control methods, and recycling practices utilized in the plastic industry.
  5. To inspire undergraduate students pursuing B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering at Manipur Technical University (MTU) to explore innovative solutions and opportunities in the field of sustainable plastic manufacturing and engineering.

Coordinator’s Statement:

The selection of this plastic manufacturing industry, equipped with a plastic recycling unit, for the visit has provided students with valuable practical knowledge and insight into manufacturing and recycling processes. This visit has been instrumental in enhancing their understanding of industrial practices and sustainable technologies, aligning with the demands of the present scenario.

Future Action:
