  • Mode of the event: Industrial Visit
  • Participants: 6th Semester Students of the EE Department

 Aim and Objective

The industrial visit to a solar power plant is designed to enhance understanding of power generation and explore real-world solar energy applications. The objective is to expose students to practical working environments, fostering a comprehensive grasp of industrial practices and new technologies.

Co-ordinator

Lourembam Ranjita Devi, Assistant Professor and HoD, EE Department, MTU.

Co-ordinator’s Statement

The students had the opportunity to explore every section of the power plant, including the Solar panel, Inverter unit, Transformer unit, and grid connection. This hands-on experience enabled them to grasp the concepts of solar energy, photovoltaic cell functionality, Solar panel operation, DC to AC conversion using the Inverter unit, voltage step-up via the Transformer unit, and energy distribution through a grid connection. Additionally, they can now estimate the land, size, and cost required for establishing a solar power plant for both domestic and commercial purposes.
