  • Witness the usage of construction equipment on site including mechanical plants.
  • Explore and identify various types of building materials and technology on site.
  • Explain the construction of steel buildings and the scientific principles

that underpin the design and construction.

Event Outcome:

The event saw active participation by students of Manipur Technical University

More site visit to fill the industry-academia gap.

One Day Industrial Visit At AAI, Imphal

1. Highlights of the Industrial Visit:

Venue: Airports Authority of India, Imphal
Co-Ordinator: Laiphangbam Renita Devi, Assistant Professor, ECE Dept., Manipur Technical University, Takyelpat, Imphal.
Participants: B.Tech 5th Semester and 3rd Semester Students, Dept. of ECE, MTU.

2. About the Industrial Visit:

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Manipur Technical University organized a One Day Students Industrial Visit at Airports Authority of India, Imphal on the 30th of January 2023. A total of 41 students from the 5th and 3rd Semester participated in this Industrial visit, accompanied by 5 faculty members and 2 technical staffs of the department. We reached AAI, Imphal around 10:30 am where in the morning section half of the students were given demonstration cum interaction session on Automation at ATC building. The students were explained about flight management systems of aircraft, various levels of automation aviation and various equipments were also shown. Half of the students were taken to the new Radar building where they were explained about Radar- its principles, various types of it. Also, they were given demonstration on how it worked. Afternoon session started around 2:30 pm where the students were swap and given the same session on the respective places. Overall, the students had a fruitful day and learnt in-depth about the Automation in Aviation and the Radar system.

3. Outcome of the Visit:

Out of 48 students, 41 students (85 %) actively participated in the Industrial Visit showing enthusiasm and keen interest in learning about the Airports Authority of India as a whole.

4. Department future plan:

In the coming up semesters, the Dept. is planning to send the students for their internship to the Airports Authority of India which will help them in expanding their knowledge in-depth about Aviation and also it will help in establishing their future career.
