One Day Students’ Industrial Visit Programme

Co-Ordinator: Rosy Kimneithem Haokip, Assistant Professor, ECE Dept., Manipur Technical University, Takyelpat, Imphal.
Participants: B.Tech 5th Semester and 7th Semester Students, Dept. of ECE, MTU.
2. About the Industrial Visit:
The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Manipur Technical University organized a One Day Students Industrial Visit at AIR Imphal and AIR Mayang Imphal on the 22nd of November, 2022. A total of 38 students from the 5th and 7th Semester participated in this Industrial visit, accompanied by 5 faculty members and 4 technical staffs of the department. Mrs. Rosy Kimneithem Haokip, Assistant Professor, ECE Dept. is the CoOrdinator of this Industrial Visit. We reached AIR Mayang Imphal at 11:30 am where we were given a demonstration about the territorial transmission, production and broadcasting of the radio programs. They also showed us how to transmit the FM programs and send to the transmitter. The students also visited various Antennas used for FM transmission and AM transmission, Transmission equipment, Transmission links from Studio to Transmission station and its technical details. At 2:00 pm we reached AIR Imphal where respected Sir N. Nandakumar, Director (Engineering), AIR Imphal warmly welcomed us and engaged with the students in a knowledgeable and informative interactive session. The students also visited the entire studio like control room, music studio, playback studio, talks studio, Transmitter Section, recording room etc.

The students also learned about the structure of the studio and management of radio station such as;
Production studio: how to record and edit the voice.
Electronic or technical section: all mechanical issues handled by the department, security of equipment and instrumental maintenance.
Recording studio: Console, recorded program, agriculture, health economics and research related, all national and international subjects covered by All India Radio.
Station library/Archive: Library section of radio station, CDs and DVDs of music, dramas, movies and various historical music documentaries.
3. Students’ Feedback:
Out of 42 students, 39 students (93 %) actively participated in the Industrial Visit showing enthusiasm and interest in learning about the All India Radio as a whole.
4. Future Action:
The department is planning to organise a One Day Industrial Visit for the students of 3rd and 5th Semester at Airport Authority of India Imphal within this Semester.

Observation of National Entrepreneurship Day, 2022

OBJECTIVES:
1. To show respect and gratitude to successful entrepreneurs of Manipur by presenting a token of appreciation.
2. To enlighten the students of management department on different types of challenges and problems in setting up their empire in state of Manipur.
3. To make awareness to the people of the state on different important roles performed by the entrepreneurs.
4. To highlight the importance of entrepreneurs in developing a nation.

Written Quiz Competition, Department of ECE, MTU

Mode: Physical Written Quiz
Coordinator: Ms. Pinky Khundrakpam, Assistant Prof., ECE Dept., Manipur Technical University, Takyelpat.
Participants: B.Tech (ECE) students.

2. About the event:
The Written Quiz Competition on Electronics and Communication Engineering is organised
with the aim to
• Test the knowledge of the students in their domain
• Instill a sense of competition amongst the students
• Provide a platform for interaction with their peers, seniors and juniors
The Quiz was for 40 minutes with 45 MCQs of one mark each with no negative markings.
The questions were prepared by the Faculties of the Department.
The winners were given cash prizes for motivation. The prizes were Rs.1000/-, Rs.700 and Rs.500/- respectively for First, Second and Third Prizes.

Almost 80% of the students of ECE participated in the competition showing the enthusiasm and interest of the students in the event.

The Department is planning to organise the quiz in regular intervals in future.

DELNET was established in 1988 as city based library network in Delhi, and was popularly known as Delhi Library Network, networking the libraries of Delhi. DELNET got registered as a society in 1992. On 13th September 2000, Delhi Library Network – DELNET became DELNET – Developing Library Network. DELNET with passage of time and technology advancements, not only widened its scope but has crossed the geographical boundaries. Flag hoisting ceremony celebrating India’s 76th Independence Day

The Manipur Technical University’s Nation Service Scheme (NSS) Unit I and Unit II jointly honored Independence Day on August 15, 2022, on the university’s campus. The university Vice Chancellor (VC) hosted the Indian national flag, which was the focal point of the festivities.

Additionally, our national anthem for India was jointly sung by university faculty and staff. During the ceremony, VC also gave a noteworthy speech about freedom fighters and the fundamental responsibilities of a decent citizen.

Real-Time Project Demonstration Competition

EVENT REPORT

In this modern era, everyone is driven by the technology. The advancement in technology has played a very huge role in the evolvement of human civilization. Technology have provided numerous innovative ways for doing work smartly unlike years ago. It has helped in improving the effectiveness and productivity of work for individual and in groups in shorter amount of period.

The event of Real-Time Project Demonstration Competition held on 28th June 2022 is the 2nd version of its kind which was initially started by the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Manipur Technical University under the name Demonstration of Real Time Electronic Circuits and Components Mini Project back in 2019. The main aim of the event is to provide the students of the university to explore and make them think beyond their bookish knowledge to provide an innovative solutions for real life problem statements. This event also encourages and provides a platform for exposure, sharing of knowledge, ideas and skills development of the students. A total number of thirty-six (36) students comprising eleven (11) teams from ECE, CSE, CE and ME participated in the competition. The event showcased the real time demonstrations of projects like: High security locking cupboard, Arduino solar tracker, Smart dustbin, Automatic water pumping system for hydroponics, hydraulic pump to name a few. The external experts made the assessment of every project based on: Novelty of the Project and Technical Knowledge.
