ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
Applicants seeking admission to the B. Tech. Degree programmes must have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or equivalent Class 12th examination conducted by a recognized Central / State Board with Physics, along with one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The candidate should also have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. Qualification certificate/ Mark Sheet will be the proof for passing of the Examination.
Relaxation in requisite eligibility for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates shall be followed as per State Government Rules.
Date of Birth:
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 31.07.1991 are eligible for admission. For SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board certificate will only be considered.
Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of percentage of marks scored in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject in the Class 12th examination conducted by a recognized Central/ State Board.
Canvassing in any form to obtain a seat will lead to disqualification of the candidate.

Seats are reserved for SC/ST/ OBC and Person with Disability (PWD) candidates as per State Government rules.
Short-listing and Counselling
The list of shortlisted candidates shall be displayed in the notice board and also uploaded in the University website after the last date of application and such applicants are to appear for an orientation programme on a date specified in the Important Dates section.
The list of selected candidates for counselling and admission, including a waiting list, will be notified in the University Notice Boards and on the University website.
The tentative schedule of Course Registration and Admission is given in Important Dates section. Selected candidates get admitted to the concerned programme by paying all fees as per schedule. The candidate’s presence at the time of verification of testimonials etc., course registration and hostel admission is essential. The fee structure is given in Fees section.
The selected candidates will have to produce all relevant documents in original at the time of admission. They also have to submit self attested copies of all mark sheets and certificates at the time of admission.
Refund of Caution Deposit
Refund of caution money shall be made to a student after his/her release from the University. The claim for refund of caution money shall not be entertained beyond a period of one year from the date of release of the student. The caution money shall not be refunded if a student leaves the programme without permission and/or does not join and attend any class after admission. Refund of caution money shall be made against application in prescribed form and production of Release Order.
HOW TO APPLY
Eligible candidates may apply for selection and admission in the prescribed format by paying a fee.
The Application Form along with the Information Brochure can be obtained from the following centres by paying an application fee of ₹ 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred) only. The fee for Application Form for SC/ST candidates is ₹ 100/- (Rupees One Hundred) only.
- Manipur Technical University Office on the 2nd Floor, Secured Office Building, North A.O.C. Imphal, Manipur – 795 001 by paying in cash or demand draft.
- Manipur Bhawans at Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati by paying in demand draft only.
- All the Offices of the District Commissioners of Manipur, by paying in demand draft only.
Demand Draft should be payable to “Manipur Technical University” and payable at Imphal.
Filled in application forms must reach the University Office on or before the last date specified in the “Important Dates” given below. Application forms received after the last date will not be considered under any circumstance. Non-delivery of application forms on time due to postal delay or any other reasons will not be the liability of the University.
Documents to be submitted along with the application form:
- Self-attested photocopy of Certificate of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination or equivalent Class 10th Examination (As proof of Date of Birth)
- Self-attested photocopy of Mark Sheet of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination or equivalent Class 10th
- Self-attested photocopy of Mark Sheet of Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination or equivalent Class 12th
- Two extra recent passport sized colour photographs
- SC/ST/OBC/Person with Disability (PWD) Certificate (if applicable). A copy of such Certificate is mandatory in case the applicant/candidate wants to claim seat under the respective reserved category
